  • October’s Webinar – Renter’s Rights Bill

Update : recording available here :
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q74f-yZJNrc&t=2232s

This month’s webinar will take the form of a Q&A session with David d’Orton-Gibson of TfP (www.tfponline.co.uk) on the subject of the impending Renter’s Rights Bill.

As soon as it passes into law TfP will be releasing updated documents (and Rentman will make any necessary changes) but as yet nothing is certain; to quote David

We need the regulations before we can make any real progress. The legislation is due back in the Lords on the 14 October (a bit flexible). I am aware some Lords will push for amendments, though it is not clear if they will have enough support to be passed in the Lords. Therefore, either it goes back to the Commons with some amendments, which the Commons will reject and send it back, or there will be no amendments and the Commons will pass it into law.

Send any questions you have to info@dotgomm.co.uk now and join us for a live webinar at 14:00 on Thursday 23 October 2025.

    please pre-register here : https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_NhorAvasTSa9v38UGgpveQ#/registration

Please note. Registering for this Q&A session can earn you a CPD certificate from TfP.

  • AI

Ai continues to get a lot of press coverage. Just so you know, Rentman uses AI for the following :

    • Generating property descriptions
    • Generating price comparisons
    • Grammar checks
    • Enhancing property photos
    • Extracting data from PDFs when drag&dropping bills.

As always, i’d be keen to hear your ideas for what else could be added.

Bear in mind that AI is not always reliable and its output should be checked for accuracy.

  • September’s Webinar – Making Tax Digital

This month’s webinar is being hosted by TfP (https://www.tfponline.co.uk/) and includes speakers from HMCR.

Making Tax Digital (MTD) for Income Tax is a new way for sole traders and landlords to report their income and expenses to HMRC and submit their tax returns.
From 6 April 2026, sole traders and landlords with qualifying income over £50,000 from either self employment or property will be required to use MTD.

  • Rightmove certificates

Everyone has been getting emails from Rightmove about a new security requirement.

Just so you know, Rentman has the new certificate and everything will continue as normal with no action required by customers.

You’ll be updated in the usual course of things well before the November deadline.

  • In the pipeline….

Here’s a few things we’re currently working on that may be of interest.

    • Key tag barcodes. Print tags from Rentman and check keys out by scanning instead of typing.
    • Realtime import of applicant leads from rightmove
    • Tenant’s previous landlord and emergency contact details can be added by the tenant themselves from the registration page at rentman.online

These should all be available within the next week.
